1892: Albert H. Weinbrenner, at the age of 27, opens a cobblery in Milwaukee with partner, Joseph Peffer, serving “Jobbing” trades. In 1900, Albert H. Weinbrenner Co. is formed. The company has a rich history of providing quality boots, with milestones such as the introduction of the “Job-fitted” concept in 1916 and the production of military-style footwear during WWII.

In 1964, the iconic Boy Scout Boot, Hike n’ Camp, is introduced and becomes the best-selling boot of all time. In 1988, the company is purchased by local group and the “ThoroGard” division is created. In 2000, Weinbrenner employees take ownership of the company through ESOP.

In 2023, sales continue to increase as Thorogood gains popularity and expands with new styles on the horizon, showing a commitment to quality and innovation.

All boots featuring a safety toe, whether steel or composite, meet or exceed impact and compression testing standards set by ASTM F2413. The Impact testing ensures that the footwear retains a specific clearance after being subjected to a nominal impact force. Compression testing measures the footwear’s ability to withstand compression forces.

ELECTRIC HAZARD [ASTM F2413-18 OR ASTM F2892]

These boots are constructed with electric shock-resisting soles and heels that can withstand electrical shock exposure, meeting ASTM F2413-18 or ASTM F2892 standards.

OIL-RESISTING OUTSOLE

The outsole is designed to resist damage caused by exposure to oil.
