In 1892, Albert H. Weinbrenner opens a cobblery in Milwaukee with partner Joseph Peffer serving “Jobbing” trades. The company evolves over the years, introducing concepts such as “Job-fitted” boots and entering safety footwear production in 1938. During WWII, the company produces military footwear and continues to innovate and serve the needs of the market.

In 1988, the company is purchased by a local group, leading to the creation of the "ThoroGard" division for high-tech occupational safety footwear. In 1992, Weinbrenner celebrates its 100th anniversary, known for “A Century of Lasting Quality.” The company continues to evolve, with employees taking ownership through an ESOP in 2000 and ongoing commitments to quality and innovation.

With the introduction of the 1892 Heritage line in 2014 and the celebration of the 125th and 130th anniversaries in 2017 and 2022 respectively, Weinbrenner continues to showcase its dedication to excellence and progress in the industry. SAFETY TOE BOOTS All safety toe boots feature either steel or composite toes that meet or exceed IMPACT and COMPRESSION testing standards.

IMPACT testing ensures that the footwear retains a .500 inch clearance after impact, while COMPRESSION testing ensures the boots can withstand a compression force of 2500 lbs.

ELECTRIC HAZARD Boots are constructed with electric shock-resisting soles and heels capable of withstanding an application of 18,000 volts at 60 Hz for 1 minute.

SLIP-RESISTING Footwear is tested for slip resistance according to industry criteria.

OIL-RESISTING The outsole is designed to withstand damage from oil exposure.
